From Delhi to Shimla
1. By Road (Bus / Car / Taxi)

By Bus
- Volvo AC (recommended for comfort) – overnight and day services available.

Kafnu is a small village in the Bhaba valley of Kinnaur. Shimla to Kafnu is around 205 km.
Kailashrath Treks arranges transport from Shimla to Kafnu. The pick up is from Shimla Old Bus Stand between 6-8 am on Day 1. The cab fare is around Rs 1200 per person. This cost is not included in the trek fee. It is to be booked prior to the trek date.
The trek ends at Mudh/Kaza. The cab fare will be Rs 2500 per person (6-seater) and Rs.2000 for a Tempo Traveller (12-seater). This cost is not included in the trek fee. It is to be booked prior to the trek date. You will reach Manali by 4-7 pm.
Things to Carry
- Trekking shoes : Carry water proof trekking shoes with good grip and ankle support. Do not carry sports shoes.
- Three layers of warm clothes : Carry two or three-layer jackets, fleece jackets and a padded jacket.
- Two/Three trek pants : Carry light cotton trek pants. Denim/jeans and shorts are not suitable for trekking.
- Three t-shirts (collared/dri-fit) : Full sleeved t-shirts that prevent sun burns on the neck and arms. Carry one or two dri-fit t-shirts.
- Thermals : Carry thermals (top and bottom).
- Sunglasses : Sunglasses are mandatory. There will be lot of snow on the trek and can cause snow blindness.
- Cap : At high altitude, the sun is extra harsh so carry a cap to protect yourself.
- Water proof hand gloves : Carry water proof gloves and avoid woollen gloves as they will get wet if you touch snow.
- Socks (3-4 pairs) and a pair of woollen socks : Apart from two sports socks, you can take a pair of woollen socks for the night.
- Headlamp/LED torch : Mandatory
- Raincoat/Ponchos : At high altitudes, snowfall and rain are quite common and it’s mandatory to carry a poncho so that you don’t get wet. The trek will continue as planned even during rainfall.
- Lunch box and water bottle : Every participant should have their personal lunch box and a water bottle [insulated type].
- Toiletries: Keep items like toilet paper, wipes, moisturiser and sunscreen.
- First Aid Kit: Carry items like few basic medicines, few antiseptics and adhesives.

Who can participate ?
Pin Bhaba Pass is ideal for those who have a decent level of fitness and a minimum of two Himalayan trek experiences of 4000+ meters altitude. It’s recommended for intermediate trekkers who are comfortable with high-altitude trekking. You should not have any serious medical issues related to Hypertension, Asthma, Diabetes, breathing problems or any other medical conditions which create difficulties for you while trekking or climbing.
You should prepare yourself before participating in the trek. You should be able to run 10 kms in 50 minutes. If you are with a BMI of 30 and above, you need to get it below 30 before joining the program
